“The recreational and educational opportunities in Farmers Branch have really kept me active. I joined the Community Recreation Center on day one and all of our facilities are top-notch but all have that hometown, family-friendly ambiance. Farmers Branch truly feeds the mind, body and soul.”

The Farmers Branch Historical Park is one of the many places in the City that visitors can enjoy roses that have been integrated into the landscapes. The front lawn of the 1885 Queen Anne Victorian Cottage boasts old garden roses blooming. This Victorian garden was a gift to the City in honor of Ruthan Rogers, a rose enthusiast and past president of the Brookhaven Garden Club. The Park is located at 2540 Farmers Branch Lane.

Designed by City Park Landscape Manager Pam Smith with the assistance of Dr. Steve George, Professor and Extension Horticulturist Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M System, the garden is an EarthKind™ demonstration garden. In keeping with the Park’s mission to preserve and share the heritage of North Texas and Farmers Branch, the garden educates visitors about the selection and care of roses, their place in local landscapes and their history.
