“The greatest thing about Farmers Branch is the people. They provide the heart of the city and foster that small town atmosphere even in the midst of the bustling metro area. People can have their cake and eat it, too - small town feel with big city amenities. Farmers Branch rocks!…”

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Anyone that has old books, CDs, DVDs, maybe even some old vinyl records can recycle them with the Farmers Branch Manske Library on site, along with other recycling services at CityWide CleanUp Day this Saturday at the Barney Wood Athletic Complex, adjacent to the Community Recreation Center. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.

In addition to the Library, onsite will be opportunities for Farmers Branch residents to recycle electronics, shred old documents and donate items to Metrocrest Social Services who serve families in the Farmers Branch area.

Additionally, there will be public safety equipment on display, information on the upcoming 2012 Liberty Fest celebration, Community Watch, animals available for adoption and an opportunity to receive a free rose plant with registration in the City Manager's Rose Program. Availability of rose plants is limited.

The Barney Wood Athletic Complex is located at the corner of Valwood Parkway and Heartside Place, adjacent to the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center. Call 972.919.2511 for more information.
